Diagonal man killed in Missouri accident

A one-vehicle accident Sunday in Worth County, Missouri, resulted in the death of a Ringgold County man.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, at approximately 10:20 p.m. Sunday, a 2006 Ford F-250, driven by a 33-year old man from Diagonal, was southbound on U.S. Highway 169, traveling too fast for road conditions.

At East Farwell Street in Grant City, Missouri, the F-250 went off the west side of the road and started sliding. The driver overcorrected then overturned, causing him to be ejected from the truck. The F-250 came to rest on its top facing east.

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene and was transported by Worth County Ambulance to a funeral home.

According to the accident report, the driver’s next of kin have been notified but the driver’s name was not released.
