Jaime Marin, 42, of Lorimor, was taken into custody March 7 at Far West Mexican Resturaunt in Lorimor on the charges of going armed with intent; harassment, first degree; interference with official acts and public intoxication.

According to Union County Sheriff’s Office reports, at approximately 9:17 p.m. Marin grabbed a large kitchen knife and made threats to a victim about harming them while walking toward the victim with the knife. He also threatened to call “narcos” he knew to come from Mexico to kill the victim.

Marin was knowingly intoxicated in the restaurant and admitted to drinking eight to 10 beers that he served himself. Marin made comments to deputies stating he was drunk and was observed to have slurred speech, bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person.

Marin was called by name by law enforcement during a building search and told to exit the building with his hands up. Marin hid from deputies and failed to comply or respond despite hearing their commands, which he later admitted to.
