No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday evening in Creston.
According to a Creston Police report, a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Seth Gordon, 18, of Creston, was driving east on Highway 34. As Gordon slowed to turn left into a parking lot, the vehicle was rear-ended by a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Ryan Reed, 17, of Ellston.
Reed said he had looked in his side mirror to change lanes. When he looked up, all he saw were brake lights, and he hit the vehicle.
When police arrived, both drivers were out of their vehicles, appearing uninjured. The Malibu sustained heavy front-end damage including the radiator falling out, fluid leaking excessively and all airbags deployed.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Estimated damage to the Malibu is $15,000, deemed totaled. Damage to the Traverse is estimated at $5,000.
Reed was given a written warning for following too closely.
