Creston Police: Orient man charged for public intoxication and paraphernalia

Nicholas A. Hardisty, 46, of Orient, was taken into custody 7:52 p.m. Feb. 17 at Division and Prairie streets on the charges of public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Creston Police report, a male walking east on Prairie Street who appeared intoxicated was reported. Officers located the man, later identified as Hardisty, who was stumbling. Hardisty walked up to the sidewalk and turned around and flipped off officers.

When officers spoke with him, the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from his person. Hardisty admitted to having a few drinks, but refused a PBT.

After being taken into custody, two THC vape cartridges were located in Hardisty’s pocket.

Hardisty was transported to the Union County Jail where he was held on $600 cash or surety bond.
