Creston Police: 2018 Ford Explorer stolen from Creston residence

Anaya M. Gourley, 19, of Ames, and Makayla L. Ira, 21, of Des Moines, were taken into custody 9:45 p.m. Feb. 13 on Cherry Street Road for the charge of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze was stopped for an unknown violation. Gourley was the driver of the vehicle and Ira a passenger.

The odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and officers located a THC vape pen under the passenger seat. The passengers in the vehicle said it was not theirs. Ira admitted to having marijuana in her purse and officers located a baggie with a green leafy substance.

Gourley and Ira were cited and released on summons to appear.

Noah A. Young, 26, homeless, was taken into custody 11:19 a.m. Feb. 14, at Sycamore and Montgomery streets on the charge of burglary, third degree.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 10:13 a.m. Young was observed leaving 809 W. Adams St. He had been advised by law enforcement on Feb. 9, not to enter the apartment or he would be charged.

Young admitted to breaking into the apartment, breaking a window while inside and using the electricity and water there.

Young was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $5,000 cash or surety bond.

Shaeina L.R. Allison, 37, of Creston, was taken into custody 1 a.m. Feb. 15, at Sycamore and Buckeye streets on the charge of driving while suspended.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:41 a.m. Allison was observed driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt on Buckeye Street. Allison has a suspended driver’s license.

Allison was cited and released on a summons to appear.

Marina L. Basaldua, 24, of Lenox, was taken into custody 3:30 a.m. Feb. 15, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on the charges of driving while suspended and OWI, first offense.

No information was available on the charge.

Basaldua was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

At approximately 5:35 p.m. Feb. 15, Tinneal F. Harris reported that a 2018 Ford Explorer was taken from her residence in the 500 block of South Bureau Street sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.

The estimated loss was $8,000.
