Vanessa Gutierrez, 36, of Creston, was taken into custody 3:41 p.m. Feb. 10, at Elm and Union streets on a Union County warrant charing her with 13 counts of theft, fifth degree.
According to Creston Police reports, on Oct. 14, 2025, the area supervisor for McDonald’s reported what he believed to be fraud. It was reported Gutierrez had purchased food at McDonald’s multiple times in September 2025, mostly at the drive thru, then disputed the charges, resulting in refunds being issued to her.
There were a total of 17 disputed charges with Gutierrez as the card holder, McDonald’s provided documentation of 13 of 17 purchases, 11 of which were made with the same Visa card. The other two purchases were made with a different Visa though Door Dash. Both cards show Gutierrez as the card holder.
Purchases were made Sept. 1, 3, 6, 13, 14, 20, 21, 22, and 28, and two purchases Sept. 10 and 30, totaling $222.30.
McDonalds also provided still images from the store’s security footage showing Gutierrez’s vehicle and license plate in the drive thru correlating with the dates and times of the purchases, as well as an image showing Gutierrez sitting in the driver’s seat of the car at the time of one of the disputed charges.
Gutierrez was taken to Union County Jail where she was released from after posting 10% of a $3,900 bond.

Reynaldo Ramirez Bravo, 41, of Creston, was taken into custody 4:16 p.m. Feb. 10, at Summit and Poplar streets on a Union County warrant for the charges of theft, first degree, a Class C felony and burglary, third degree, a Class D felony. He was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, first offense.
According to Creston Police reports, between Dec. 20 and 24, 2025, Ramirez Bravo forcefully entered a residence in the 400 block of North Pine Street with the intent to commit theft. He was seen by the victim exiting the property Dec. 24.
The victim reported more than $17,000 in tools and construction materials were taken from the residence and from an enclosed trailer at the property.
Numerous witnesses said Ramirez Bravo was in possession of the stolen property. A portion of the stolen items were recovered after police executed a search warrant at a residence where Ramirez Bravo had sold some of the stolen property.
After being taken into custody on the warrant, a plastic baggie containing a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine was found in his possession.
Ramirez Bravo was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $15,000 cash-only and $1,000 cash or surety bonds.
