Wesley G. Keeler Jr., 38, of Creston, was taken into custody 5:26 p.m. Jan. 26, at Adams and Elm streets on a Union County warrant for the charge of domestic abuse assault - impeding the flow of air/blood causing bodily injury.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 7:14 a.m. Dec. 19, officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of North Cedar Street.
The victim told officers Keeler had bear-hugged them and while struggling to get away, they ended up with a bloody nose and red marks around their neck and throat area.
It appeared to police the victim had been put in a headlock while trying to escape which caused the victim’s neck injuries. Keeler fled the scene before officers arrived causing a warrant to be issued for his arrest.
Keeler was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $5,000 cash or surety bond.
