Union County: Thayer man charged with contempt

Blake M. Stephen, 36, of Thayer, was taken into custody Jan. 17 in the 1700 block of Four Mile Creek Drive on the charge of violation of a no-contact order - contempt.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 7:25 p.m. deputies responded to a domestic dispute. A female at the residence said Stephen was in a verbal argument with her and another female at the residence and punched a hole in the wall. Stephen was found hiding behind chairs in the back corner of the garage.

Stephen told deputies he knew he was not supposed to be at the residence due to a protection order against him.

Stephen was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from on his own recognizance on a promise to appear after his initial appearance.
