No injuries were reported in two separate accidents in the Walmart parking lot on Friday.
According to Creston Police reports, the first accident occurred at 8:46 a.m. when a 2018 Ford Edge, driven by Stephanie A. Auten, 48, of Creston, backed into a 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Brittney L. Smith, 37 of Creston.
Smith had just backed out of a parking spot and was preparing to put the Tahoe in drive to move forward as Auten backed out of another spot and struck the Tahoe.
Damages to both vehicles were estimated at $800 each.
The second accident occurred at 5:09 p.m. when a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Britney R. Walton, 33, of Creston, was hit by a 2014 Ram truck, driven by Carlos E. Troconis Vilchez, 34, of Creston.
According to a Creston Police report, the Ram pulled into a parking spot and the Pacifica attempted to proceed through the row when Troconis Vilchez reversed out of the parking spot and hit the Pacifica.
Troconis Vilchez told officers he looked but did not see any vehicles before backing out.
Damage to the Pacifica was estimated at $8,000. No damage was reported to the Ram.
