Accident Report

A distracted teen driver was uninjured in a one-vehicle rollover accident Saturday in Union County.

According to a Union County Sheriff’s Office report, at approximately 12:47 p.m. a 2015 Ford Taurus, driven by Bevynn N. Scherer, 16, of Creston, was northbound on Hi and Dry Road. Scherer attempted to clear a text message off of the screen on the center console of the Ford and went into the shoulder gravel. Scherer overcorrected, crossed the centerline and went into the opposite lane of traffic. The Ford then entered the west ditch and rolled. Scherer, who was wearing a seatbelt, refused any medical attention at the scene.
