Thomas J. Blobaum, 39, of Creston, was taken into custody 4 p.m. Dec. 24, at his residence on the charge of domestic abuse assault, first offense.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 3:52 p.m. a family member reported Blobaum was out of control at his residence. The family member said Blobaum became upset that they would not purchase him nicotine pouches.
Before officers arrived at the home, Blobaum flipped over the dining room table, knocking several items to the floor. He also shoved one family member and slapped another across the face, causing pain.
Blobaum was found in his bedroom and was given verbal commands to exit. He subsequently exited and sat on the floor in the dining room. Officers gave Blobaum nine lawful commands to place his hands behind his back before he complied. After being taken into custody, Blobaum refused to provide his name, date of birth or Social Security number to officers.
Blobaum was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $300 cash or surety bond.

Juscinda S. Butcher, 36, of, Corning, was taken into custody 7 p.m. Dec. 24, at Dollar Tree on the charges of assault and child endangerment.
According to a Creston Police report, a fight between two females was reported at the store. Butcher approached the victim at the cash register and physically assaulted her. Butcher was upset that the victim had been purchasing narcotics from her significant other leading up to the altercation.
During the assault, Butcher’s minor child was seated in a shopping cart which was knocked backwards and crashed into a shelving unit. Butcher continued assaulting the victim and disregarded the child, creating a substantial risk to the child’s physical, mental and emotional health and safety.
Butcher was cited and released on a summons to appear.
