Creston Police: An Afton man was charged with violating parole

Beau E. Boswell, 27, of Afton, was taken into custody 2:10 p.m. Dec. 12, in the 100 block of North Elm Street on a Union County warrant for the charge of violation of parole.

According to an Iowa Department of Corrections report, Boswell violated the terms of his parole Sept. 29 and Oct. 14, when he failed to show up for scheduled meetings with his parole officer.

Boswell was arrested Dec. 2 in Ringgold County on the charges of OWI, first offense and interference with official acts after he was involved in a one-vehicle accident. Sobriety tests were administered and Boswell showed signs of impairment. He refused to give a testable specimen. While being booked into jail, Boswell refused commands from the jailer and deputies. While Boswell was being placed into a holding cell until he decided to be compliant, he passively resisted deputies by going limp and had to be drug into the cell.

Boswell was transported to the Union County Jail and held on without bond.

Jackson D. Elias, 23, of Omaha, Nebraska, was taken into custody 10:50 p.m. Dec. 17, at Sumner Avenue and Townline Street on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Creston Police report, a traffic stop was conducted on a Dodge Charger without license plates. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Elias, and the odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.

Elias was asked how much marijuana was in the vehicle and he told officers there was only a pipe. A probable cause search was conducted and a pipe, grinder with marijuana in it, a THC vape pen and a baggie with residue was located.

Elias was transported to the Union County Jail and was cited and released on a summons to appear.

Angela L. Stone, 41, of Oskaloosa, was taken into custody 5:54 a.m. Dec. 21, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for two counts of harassment, second degree.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 4:55 p.m. Nov. 4, Stone sent threatening text messages to a female and male victim stating she was going to cause harm to both. The messages alarmed both victims.

Stone was transported to the Adams County Jail and held on $1,000 cash or surety bond.
