Karina L. Wilkinson, 49, of Creston, was taken into custody 12:30 p.m. Dec. 12, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for the charge of violation of probation on the original charge of possession of a controlled substance, second offense.
According to an Iowa Department of Correctional Services report, on July 18, 2024, Wilkinson received a suspended sentence on the original charge which included up to two years probation and seven days in jail.
Wilkinson has failed to complete the court-ordered jail sentence. She missed a scheduled appointment with probation Dec. 10 and owes court and supervision fees. Wilkinson also provided a sample July 30 which tested positive for methamphetamine and THC.
Wilkinson was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from on her own recognizance due to a medical condition.

Kristal L. Miller, 47, of Ames, was taken into custody 5:50 p.m. Dec 14, at Highway 34 and Division Street on the charge of OWI, second offense.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:19 p.m. officers responded to O’Reilly Auto Parts after concerned citizens reported a female, later identified as Miller, had parked a 2016 Hyundai Elantra slanted, blocking multiple parking spots, even though the yellow parking lines were visible and other vehicles were parked correctly in the lot.
While speaking with Miller, officers observed signs of impairment. Miller consented to field sobriety and ARIDE testing and showed validated clues of impairment and indicators of impairment on these tests. Miller also consented to a PBT, with a test result of .000. A Drug Recognition Expert was contacted to evaluate Miller.
Based on results from field sobriety and ARIDE testing and the evaluation, it was determined Miller was impaired.
Miller was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.
