Creston Police: Creston man charged with eluding police six months later

Johnnie T. Lovell, 45, of Creston, was taken into custody Dec. 1 in the 400 block of North Walnut Street on a Union County warrant for the charge of eluding.

According to a Union County Sheriff’s Office report, at approximately 8:53 p.m. June 16, Lovell was observed at Townline and Walnut streets driving a 2000 Yamaha four-wheeler.

Lovell was seen looking back at law enforcement behind him who had lights and sirens activated before looking forward again and continuing to operate the four-wheeler. Lovell made statements that he saw police behind him.

Lovell was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.
