Timothy M. Nelson, 36, of Albion, was taken into custody 2:16 a.m. Nov. 27, in the 400 block of North Pine Street on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 1:41 a.m. officers stopped a 2009 Ford F150 for improperly working brake lights.
While speaking with the driver, identified as Nelson, officers observed a baggie with what appeared to be a powder residue inside. Nelson denied consent to search the truck. Creston Police K-9 Olga was deployed and gave a positive alert to the odor of narcotics.
Nelson then admitted to the baggie containing methamphetamine and said he had a pipe in his back pocket.
A probable cause search was conducted and the baggie and pipe were recovered. Both items field tested positive for methamphetamine. The baggie weighed approximately 4.6 grams.
Nelson was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $5,300 cash or surety bond.

Jason E. Sparks, 35, of Creston, was taken into custody 6:40 p.m. Nov. 28, at his residence on three Adams County warrants for the charges of failure to appear.
No details on the charges were available.
Sparks was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,500 cash-only bond.

Moises Robles, 27, of Brownsville, Texas, and Marco A. T. Solis Jr., 28, of La Joya, Texas, were taken into custody 5:49 a.m. Nov. 28, at 800 Laurel St. on the charge of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 4:53 a.m. Robles and Solis Jr. went to another person’s room at a local motel upset over something that had occurred earlier in the night. They then assaulted the victim, which Robles admitted to doing, due to an earlier situation in which Robles said the victim was disrespectful to the women present at the motel.
The victim was bleeding from their mouth and was transported by medics to the hospital.
Robles and Solis Jr. were transported to the Union County Jail where they were released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bonds.
