Creston Police: Missing phone results in drug charges

Levi D. Capp, 46, of Creston, was taken into custody 7:25 p.m. Nov. 21, in the 1400 block of North Elm Street on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense and possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 7 p.m. officers were dispatched to a residence on North Elm Street for a man, later identified as Capp, threatening other occupants at the home.

Capp told officers he lost his cell phone and believed the other people at the house stole it. Officers went with Capp into the basement to help him look for the phone. While doing so, marijuana was observed in plain view next to Capp’s drivers license. It later field-tested positive.

A search of Capp’s person while being taken into custody produced a baggie which field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Capp was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.
