Police Line

Eyleena M. Stringer, 33, of Creston, was taken into custody 6:11 p.m. Nov. 4, at her residence on a Union County warrant for the charge of harassment, second degree. She was additionally charged with interference with official acts.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:26 p.m. Oct. 22, Stringer, who was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe, pulled up next to the victim while at the high school on Academic Avenue and began screaming at the victim about driving past her house.

During the exchange, Stringer threatened harm to the victim. She then pulled away northbound toward the middle school, turned around in the bus barn parking lot at excessive speeds, making her tires spin and drove through the grass and back toward the victim. She slammed on the brakes, causing the Tahoe to skid just before hitting the victim’s vehicle and then said something else to the victim.

At the time of the incident, school was being dismissed and pedestrian traffic was heavy in the area. This was observed on video footage. Stringer was also issued a citation for reckless driving stemming from the incident.

On Tuesday, when officers made contact with Stringer at her residence for the warrant, Stringer was initially argumentative and hostile and demanded she be told the entire process before anything occurred. She was asked if anyone was available to watch her children who she was caring for in the home because she was going to be taken into custody for the warrant. Stringer said she was not going to jail and resisted officers, causing a struggle to ensue during which Stringer threatened to break an officer’s finger. Eventually, Stringer was handcuffed.

Stringer was transported to the Clarke County Jail where she was released from on her own recognizance on a promise to appear after her initial appearance.
