Carlos I. Cortez, 29, of Creston, was taken into custody 2:15 p.m. Nov. 3, in the 1700 block of West Townline Street on the charge of harassment, first degree.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 3:58 a.m. Cortez threatened to tie a female victim down and kill people in front of her.
Cortez was taken to the hospital to be checked out and cleared before being taken into custody. After which, he contacted the victim again by sending her a message saying he was going to destroy her property.
Cortez was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $2,000 cash-only bond.

Tammy L. Case, 53, of Creston, was taken into custody 3:33 p.m. Nov. 3, at Mills and Pine streets on a Union County warrant for the charges of first degree theft against an older individual, over $10,000 and unauthorized use of a credit card - over $10,000.
According to Creston Police reports from May 1 through Aug. 1 Case used an elderly victims credit card without authorization to make 92 ATM transactions from 10 ATMs in Creston, totaling $17,758.75. Case did so knowing she did not have authorization to use the card.
Case was transported to the Adams County Jail and held on $35,000 cash or surety bond.
