A two-vehicle accident Friday in Creston caused more than $6,000 in damage.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:42 a.m., a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Stephanie K. Haffner, 30, of Clarinda, was southbound on Elm Street, proceeding through the intersection at Adams Street. At the same time, a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Deborah A. Blazek, 75, of Corning, was eastbound on Adams Street.
The Equinox was more than half-way through the intersection when the Suburban hit it after it failed to yield the right-of-way from the stop sign.
Damage to the Equinox was estimated at $5,000 and damage to the Suburban was estimated at $1,500.
Haffner complained of pain and possible injury but was not transported by EMS.
