Clayton C. Albrecht, 34, of Truro, was taken into custody 9:14 p.m. Sept. 8, near mile marker 85 on Interstate 80 in Menlo on the charges of OWI, first offense, driving under suspension, failure to maintain control and open container.
According to an Adair County report, at approximately 8:36 p.m. Sept. 8, Adair County received a report of an accident on Interstate 80 where an SUV was reported to have hit a semi and gone into the ditch. It was also reported that a male, possibly from the SUV, was walking toward the 86 mile marker.
At the scene,, deputies observed a 2014 Dodge Journey in the ditch and a male standing outside the driver’s door. A witness at the scene told deputies the male had been in the Dodge when they first stopped. The witness stated the driver had been driving like he was impaired and had tried to pass a semi when the Dodge made contact with it before going into the ditch.
The male had difficulty providing identification and was having problems standing while leaning on the Dodge. He told deputies he did not have a driver’s license and handed his wallet to deputies. In the wallet, an expired temporary Iowa license was found, identifying the male as Albrecht, who was also the registered owner of the Dodge.
Albrecht consented to field sobriety testing but was unable to complete the first test. Deputies transported Albrecht to a safer location to conduct further testing. Albrecht declined two tests while admitting he was guilty. He did complete one test and showed signs of impairment during it. A PBT was given and showed Albrecht to have a BrAC over .08%.
Albrecht was transported to the Adair County Jail where he consented to provide a breath sample for chemical testing, the result of which indicated his BAC to be .252%.
Albrecht was released after posting $1,300 cash or surety bond.

Jon E. Muselman, 57, of Osceola, was taken into custody 8:57 p.m. Sept. 9, at West Division and South Broad streets in Orient on the charges of OWI, first offense.
According to an Adair County report, at approximately 7 p.m. a two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection. At the scene, a male, later identified as Muselman, was observed standing on the sidewalk near the intersection smoking a cigarette. He admitted to being involved in the collision and provided his identification and vehicle information, identifying him as the driver of a 2014 Buick LaCrosse.
Multiple witnesses stated the LaCrosse ran a stop sign on South Broad Street and turned onto West Division Street, where it hit a 2024 Chevrolet Suburban.
While speaking with Muselman, the odor of an intoxicating beverage was detected coming from his person. Muselman admitted to drinking “a couple.” He consented to field sobriety testing and showed clues of impairment during testing. A PBT showed his BrAC to be above .08%.
Muselman was transported to the Adair County Jail where he consented to provide a breath sample for chemical testing, the result of which indicated his BAC to be .108%.
Muselman was cited and released on a summons to appear. He was cited for failure to provide proof of financial liability - accident and failure to obey a stop sign and yield right of way.

Patricia A. Denson, 68, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, was taken into custody 3:37 p.m. Sept. 10, on Flag Road in Adair on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, first offense and prescription drug violation, first offense.
According to an Adair Police report, at approximately 2:14 p.m. a report of a female sitting in a vehicle in front of Subway in Adair was recieved. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the woman, identified as Denson, who appeared to be under the influence of a recreational drug.
Denson denied there being any illegal drugs in the vehicle and immediately advised officers they could search her vehicle and belongings in the vehicle.
During a search of Denson’s purse, a prescription bottle containing a small amount of methamphetamine, was located. Denson also was in possession of OxyContin and anxiety medication not prescribed to her.
Denson was transported to the Adair County Jail where she was released from after posting 10% of a $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Sabrina S. Winkelmann, 40, of Fontanelle, was taken into custody 5:28 p.m. Sept. 13, int he 400 block of Sixth Street in Adair on the charge of assault causing bodily injury.
According to an Adair Police report, at approximately 4:37 p.m. Winkelmann was reported for assaulting her sister. Officers observed the victim to be bleeding from the head with blood running down her face and neck.
The victim told officers Winkelmann struck her in the head with her hand while holding a cell phone. Winkelmann admitted to the assault.
Winkelmann was transported to the Adair County Jail where she was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.
