Michael Durant, 24, of Corning, was taken into custody Aug. 28 on an Adams County warrant for the charge of failure to appear.

Christopher Trisler, 53, of Afton, was taken into custody Aug. 28 on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, first offense and driving while suspended.
According to an Adams County report, at approximately 11:01 p.m. a 2010 Mazda MZ3 was stopped on Highway 34 for having a license plate lamp out. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Trisler, who provided an ID card to deputies. A check of Trisler’s license status showed his license to be suspended with six withdrawals in effect. The passenger in the vehicle did not have a license either.
While the passenger waited for a license driver, the Ringgold County K-9 was requested at the scene to preform an open air sniff around the Mazda. The K9 alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the car.
A probable cause search was conducted and produced a small burnt piece of aluminum foil that contained a crystalline substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine. Trisler took ownership for the substance.
Trisler was transported to the Adams County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash bond.

Justin Beckwith, 46, of Corning, was taken into custody Aug. 29 on the charges of possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, failure to affix drug tax stamp and violation of a no contact order.
According to an Adams County report, at approximately 7:49 a.m. Beckwith was observed walking with a female listed as a protected party in a no contact order against him.
After being taken into custody, a pat down search was done by deputies and an object that felt like a rock was felt in Beckwith’s right front pocket. Beckwith told deputies it was methamphetamine. The object was retrieved and field tested positive for methamphetamine. The weight of the rock was 13 grams.
Beckwith was transported to the Adams County Jail and held on $35,000 cash or surety bond.

Frankie E. Armstrong, 62, of Creston, was taken into custody Aug. 29 on an Adams County warrant for the charge of OWI, first offense.
According to an Adams County report, at approximately 2 a.m. May 31, a traffic stop was conducted on a Chevrolet Malibu that did not have license plates. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Armstrong, who was observed to show traits of impairment.
Armstrong consented to field sobriety testing and showed clues of impairment. He was transported to the Adams County Jail where he consented to provide a urine sample for chemical testing. The report, received June 27, showed a positive presence of amphetamine, methamphetamine and THC.
Armstrong was transported to the Adams County Jail where he was released from on his own recognizance on a promise to appear.

Devin Gray, 25, of Corning, was taken into custody Aug. 29 on the charge of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana.
According to an Adams County report, at approximately 8:43 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a 2013 Buick Encore that had a headlight out. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Gray and the odor of marijuana was detected.
When asked if anything illegal was inside the vehicle, Gray admitted to there being marijuana in the car. Gray told deputies he was given the marijuana by his sister who purchased it in Missouri.
A probable cause search was conducted and produced an unopened package of marijuana weighting 3.5 grams, found in the far back seat of the vehicle.
Gray was cited and released on a summons to appear.

Christina McDonald, 38, of Creston, taken into custody Aug. 30, on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, second offense and possession of paraphernalia.
According to an Adams County report, at approximately 12:47 a.m. a 2008 Chevrolet pickup was stopped on Highway 34 for having expired registration tags. Contact was made with the driver, identified as McDonald, who exhibited extreme signs of nervousness including shaky hands, heavy sweating and visible carotid artery pulsation.
McDonald told deputies she was in Corning to pick up someone who had just been released from the jail, who is known to abuse controlled substances. Adams County K-9 was requested at the scene and was deployed. The K-9 gave a positive alert to the odor of narcotics from the vehicle.
A probable cause search was conducted and produced multiple individual baggies, baggies containing a white crystalline substance and a needle used for injecting. McDonald admitted to the methamphetamine being in the vehicle.
McDonald was also cited for operating an unregistered vehicle and failure to produce proof of financial liability.
McDonald was transported to the Adams County Jail where she was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.
