Jared J. Wilmeth, 40, of Creston, was taken into custody 1:37 p.m. Aug. 13, at Lincoln and Jefferson Streets on a Union County warrant for the charge of probation violation.
According to Judicial District Department of Correctional Services reports, Wilmeth was convicted of domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury and received a suspended sentence Aug. 4, 2023, of up to two years probation.
Alleged violations to Wilmeth’s probation include urinalysis testing May 21, which was positive for Oxycodone; May 27, when Wilmeth failed to produce a specimen to test and June 25, which was positive for THC and methamphetamine.
Wilmeth has not made any payments toward court ordered supervision fees, court fees and has made one payment toward program fees. Wilmeth has not completed the second half of a required evaluation and has not followed recommendations provided from a substance abuse evaluation.
Wilmeth was transported to the Union County Jail and held without bond until seen by a judge.

John D. Foster, 40, of Creston, was taken into custody 3:05 p.m. Aug. 13 in the 500 block of North Elm Street on the charge of theft, fifth degree.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:30 p.m. Foster knocked on a neighbor’s door and asked if he could plug in an extension cord for work he was doing next door. The individual who answered the door told Foster she did not live at the residence and could not give him permission to do so.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. it was observed Foster had plugged in the extension cord without permission. Foster told officers he needed to charge his phone and didn’t know what else to do. He also stated he had charged the phone approximately 50%.
Foster was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $300 cash or surety bond.
