Adair County police reports: July 30,2025

Kenneth L. Oglesby, 62, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was taken into custody 4:30 a.m. July 21, at mile marker 80 on Interstate 80 on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to an Iowa State Patrol report, at approximately 3:40 a.m. troopers located a 2010 Toyota Tacoma on Interstate 80 that several driving complaints had been reported on. Troopers observed the Toyota to be unable to maintain its lane.

A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, identified as Oglesby. A search of the vehicle produced a small bag of marijuana and a marijuana pipe.

Oglseby was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from on his own recognizance on a promise to appear.

Cody A. Brommel, 30, of Stuart, was taken into custody 2:12 p.m. July 24, on an Adair County warrant for the charges of stalking - possession of a dangerous weapon and going armed with intent.

According to a Greenfield Police report, Brommel was arrested at approximately 9:25 p.m. July 13 for harassment. Prior to being handcuffed, Brommel stated he had and presented a fishing knife. When directed to drop the knife on the ground, Brommel threw it in nearby weeds. The knife was not located at the time of his arrest.

After transporting Brommel to the Adair County Jail, officers returned to the scene and located the knife. The knife was a filet-style knife with a curved blade exceeding five inches. Given the totality of the incident, the repeated attempts Brommel had made to gain access to a residence, his heightened emotional state, both pre- and post-arrest, and the size and style of the knife, the two additional charges were added.

Brommel was transported to the Adair County Jail and held on $20,000 cash only bond.

Macie A. Tish, 27, of Adair, was taken into custody 1:56 a.m. July 25, at mile marker 84 on Interstate 80 on the charge of public intoxication.

According to an Adair County report, at approximately 12:13 a.m. July 25, a female was reported walking on Interstate 80 eastbound, close to the travel portion, who had almost been hit by passing vehicles.

Deputies located the female, identified as Tish, who admitted to consuming two “tall boys” and a portion of a third. Tish had slurred speech, bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. She was also unaware of her location and the direction she had been walking.

A vehicle had been reported in the ditch south of Casey, which was registered to Tish. However, it could not be confirmed Tish was impaired at the time of the accident or that Tish was the driver.

Tish consented to a PBT, which indicated her BrAC to be .192%.

Tish was transported to the Adair County Jail where she was released from after posting $300 cash or surety bond.

Carnell L. Rooks, 34, of North Chesterfield, Virginia, was taken into custody 7:55 p.m. July 26, on the ramp at mile market 76 of Interstate 80, on the charges of persons ineligible to carry a weapon and possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense.

According to an Iowa State Patrol report, at approximately 6:11 p.m. a straight truck displaying incorrect USDOT numbers on the driver’s door was observed. A traffic stop was initiated on the truck and contact was made with the driver, identified as Rooks.

Rooks was asked by the trooper if he could open the door to speak with Rooks easier and Rooks stated he could speak to him through the half-cracked window. While speaking to Rooks through the passenger-side window, the odor of marijuana was detected.

Rooks had a suspended Virginia license. Rooks was asked where the marijuana was and he told troopers it was in a bag on the floor by his feet and also stated there was a handgun in another bag in the vehicle.

A probable cause search was conducted and a commercial bag of marijuana was found, as well as two loaded handguns with two extra magazines, two boxes of ammunition, a cleaning kit and two holsters.

Rooks has previous convictions for obstructing justice with threat of force, strangulation, assault and battery and abduction by force, making him ineligible to possess or carry a weapon.

Rooks was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.
