Andrew M. Irons, 28, of Dexter, was taken into custody 9:17 p.m. July 16, in the 500 block of South Park Street in Stuart on the charges of burglary, second degree and harassment, first degree.
According to a Stuart Police report, at approximately 7:58 p.m. officers observed a crowd of people standing in the road at Southwest Sixth and South Park streets who appeared to be yelling at each other.
A male party in the crowd told officers his daughter was the passenger in a vehicle that Irons had followed to that location and began yelling at the driver of.
The driver told officers he had pulled up to a residence to pick up a friend and Irons approached him aggressively and yelled at him about his driving. During the incident, the victim said Irons made threatening statements and then reached into his vehicle through the driver’s side window, unlocked the door from the inside, opened it and told him he was going to pull the victim out and pull out his Adam’s apple. The victim attempted to close the door but Irons held it open. Eventually, the victim got the door closed. At that point, Irons walked to the passenger side of the vehicle where a juvenile female was seated. Irons placed his hands on the top of the vehicle window to prevent her from being able to roll it up and continued to yell and threaten the victim.
Irons told officers that the victim had drove by his house and nearly hit his daughters playing in his yard. He admitted to being angry but denied the allegations made.
Irons was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from after posting $10,000 cash or surety bond.
