Creston Police: warrant issued for violation of probation

Alex R. Cunningham, 34, of Creston, was taken into custody 8:20 p.m. June 19, in the 800 block of West Townline Street on a Union County warrant for the charge of violation of probation.

According to an Iowa Department of Correctional Services report, Cunningham was convicted of stalking and four counts of harassment, first degree and was sentenced March 14. He was granted a suspended sentence with two years of probation.

Cunningham is alleged to have violated the terms of his probation on June 14 when he was arrested and charged for violation of a no contact order. The protected party in the most recent charge is the same victim of Cunningham’s current probation cases as well as numerous prior cases.

Cunningham was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash bond.
