Creston Police: Officer injured during altercation with Creston man

Jason M. Turk, 50, of Creston, was taken into custody 12:12 p.m. June 4, in the 300 block of Livingston Avenue on the charges of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:58 a.m. officers responded to an indecent exposure complaint at a residence. When they arrived, they observed marijuana and drug paraphernalia in plain view in the living room.

Turk admitted it was marijuana.

Turk was transported to the to Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,300 cash or surety bond.

Joshua Z. Mohr, 39, of Bellevue, was taken into custody 5:41 p.m. June 4, on West Mills Street on the charge of public intoxication.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 5:30 p.m. officers responded to a possible domestic dispute. The spoke with a male at the residence, identified as Mohr, who was observed to have bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech, impaired balance and the odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person.

Mohr made admissions to consuming alcoholic beverages and consented to a PBT with a result of .253%. Mohr also made statements about how he was drinking alcohol earlier in the day, specifically in the morning, and had recently walked from the Casey’s General Store on Sumner Avenue to the Mills Street address.

Mohr was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $300 cash or surety bond.

Peter K. Larsen III, 34, of Creston, was taken into custody 9:39 p.m. June 4, at his residence on the charges of assault on persons in certain occupations causing bodily injury, obstruction of emergency communications, remove radio from officer causing bodily injury, public intoxication and domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury, first offense.

According to Creston Police reports, at approximately 9:57 p.m. Larsen assaulted an adult female at a residence in the 600 block of South Cherry Street by grabbing her arm and throwing her on the bed, causing her head to hit a wall. The victim said she saw “white” as a result of this action. Larsen also took the victim’s phone from her so she could not call for help. The phone was discovered destroyed at the residence.

When officers attempted to take Larsen into custody, he resisted arrest and fought with them, causing injuries to officers. At one point Larsen grabbed an officer’s radio making it impossible for the officer to radio for assistance or speak to dispatch or other officers.

Larsen was intoxicated in a public space. He was observed to have slurred speech, bloodshot, watery eyes and a strong strong odor of an alcoholic beverage while speaking with officers. He consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The result indicated his BAC to be .251%.

Larsen was transported to the Union County Jail and held without bond until seen by the magistrate.
