Creston Police: Creston man attacks female victim

Robert L. Stow, 72, of Creston, was taken into custody 5:15 p.m. May 9, at his residence on the charges of domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, sometime between 7 and 9 a.m, a verbal altercation between Stow and a female victim turned physical. Stow struck the victim several times in the face, leaving marks on the victim’s forehead and left side of the face.

Stow left the residence after the assault, which was reported by a third party. Stow was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Thomas M. Taylor, 30, of Greenfield, was taken into custody 2:36 a.m May 10, at Mills Street and Sumner Avenue on the charge of OWI, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:14 a.m. a 2004 Dodge Ram that did not have a front license plate was observed at Townline Street and Sumner Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, identified as Taylor. The odor of a consumed alcoholic beverage was detected coming from the Dodge. When asked how much he had drank, Taylor did not give officers a straight answer.

Taylor consented to field sobriety testing and showed validated clues of impairment. He consented to a PBT, which showed his BrAC to be above .08%. Later, Taylor consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The result indicated his BAC to be .144%.

Taylor was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting a $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Jordan L. Killmon of Creston reported that sometime between 5:30 p.m. May 10 and 7:30 a.m. May 11, the windshield of a vehicle was broke out in the 400 block of South Pine Street.

Damage to the vehicle was estimated between $300-$750.

At approximately 12:10 p.m. May 11, Scott E. Thompson reported license plates being stolen off of his vehicle while it was parked in the 300 block of South Cherry St.
