Motorcycle accident kills Texas man in Adams County

A Texas man died in a one-vehicle motorcycle accident Saturday near Prescott.

According to an Iowa State Patrol report, at approximately 2:03 p.m. a 2000 Yamaha motorcycle, driven by Tevin Takeo Wilson, 25, of Amarillo, Texas, was westbound on 180th Street between Redwood and Quince avenues.

For unknown reasons, the Yamaha began to wobble, causing Wilson to lose control of the motorcycle. The Yamaha struck the barrier face of the Mount Zion Branch Bridge, throwing Wilson off the motorcycle and over the barrier. The Yamaha continued to slide westbound while Wilson landed on the rocks below.

Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s office by a local funeral home.
