Accident: Pickup hits sedan in two-vehicle accident

No injuries were reported Friday in a two-vehicle accident in Creston.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 4:02 p.m. a 2014 Toyota Avalon, driven by Jamieson E. Brown, 59, of Iowa City, was eastbound on Taylor Street.

The Avalon stopped in the inside lane due to a vehicle in front of it waiting to turn north into a parking lot. At the same time, a 2017 Ram 1500 pickup, driven by Phillip L. Rich, 69, of Chariton, was also eastbound on Taylor Street, behind the Avalon.

Rich did not see the Avalon stop in time and stuck the back of the vehicle.

Damage to the Avalon was estimated at $3,000 and damage to the Ram was estimated at $1,500.
