Joshua M. Irlmeier, 29, of Fontanelle, was taken into custody 7:15 p.m. April 27, at his residence on the charges of invasion of privacy, child endangerment and camera/electronic surveillance devices - trespass, first offense.

According to Adair County reports, on Nov. 19, 2024, a female in Fontanelle reported being recorded without permission in her residence. The victim told deputies she had been getting ready to shower and when she turned to get in the shower, she observed an arm with a gloved hand holding a cell phone to the bathroom window recording her. The individual was able to avoid the victim’s husband when he searched the property and was no longer in the area when deputies arrived.

Tire tracks found a short distance from the victim’s residence were similar to the tread pattern of Irlmeier’s truck and his truck also matched the description of the truck reported by the victim’s neighbor that was seen traveling at a high rate of speed, coinciding with the time the person would have been fleeing from the home. Irlmeier had intimate knowledge of the home’s layout after helping to recently remodel the home. A coworker of Irlmeier’s reported that he had made statements about an area near the home being a good location for a treestand, inferring the view would be perfect into the bathroom of the home.

Information pulled with a search warrant from Verizon Wireless of Irlmeier’s phone showed his location during the incident, both heading in the direction of the residence, accessing a field west of the residence via the water way and remaining at this location for approximately one hour before his location moved closer to the residence near the bathroom window for six minutes. The data then shows a much quicker change of location at the approximately time the victim noticed being recorded.

On March 5, deputies executed a search warrant at Irlmeier’s residence, where they were made aware of the presence of his 3-year-old daughter sleeping in his room upstairs. After the child left the room, a search was completed and the room was found to have many devices that were sexual in nature that were easily accessible. The room was unkept and had water bottles full of tobacco spit and condom wrappers scattered throughout it.

Irlmeier was transported to the Adair County Jail where he was released from on $10,000 cash only bond.
