Ryan Loy, 34, of Murray, was taken into custody May 4 at his residence on the charge of domestic abuse assault - impeding flow of air or blood.

According to a Union County Sheriff’s Office report, at approximately 11:30 p.m. a verbal argument took place at Loy’s home between he and the female victim.

The argument turned physical when Loy, who was intoxicated, shoved the victim onto the bed and placed his hands around her throat in attempt to stop her from leaving. Loy then dumped water onto the victim. The victim, in attempt to make Loy stop, slapped the water cup out of his hands, causing the cup to strike him in the nose.

Loy was transported to the Union County Jail and held without bond until seen by the magistrate.
