Creston Police: Man slapped by family member during argument

Samantha K. Booth, 56, of Creston, was taken into custody 6:14 p.m. May 1, at her residence on the charge of domestic abuse assault.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 5:28 p.m. police responded to a potential domestic assault in the 500 block of North Stone Street.

Officers spoke with an adult male who told them he had become frustrated with his child who had an accident but who he knew was potty trained. He stated he had spanked the child which upset Booth and caused he and Booth to become involved in a verbal altercation.

While the victim was sitting on the couch, Booth continued to yell at him and point her finger in his face. The victim pushed her hand away from his face and as he did so, Booth slapped him on the head/side of his face.

Booth contacted law enforcement and reported slapping the victim.

Booth was transported to the Adams County Jail where she was released from on her own recognizance on a promise to appear.
