Union County Sheriff’s Office: Lorimor woman charged with meth possession

Amanda M. Steinbach, 33, of Lorimor, was taken into custody April 23, at Missouri Avenue and Main Street in Lorimor on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while barred.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 11:22 p.m. a 2008 Chevrolet Impala was stopped for a traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Steinbach. Steinbach was found to have a barred driver’s license and was taken into custody.

A search of her purse after being arrested resulted in deputies locating a syringe which later field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Steinbach admitted to using the syringe to inject methamphetamine.

Steinbach has previous convictions for possession of a controlled substance.

Steinbach was transported to the Clarke County Jail and held on $4,000 cash or surety bond.

Michael J. Wilson, 44, of Lorimor, was taken into custody April 24 on the charge of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.

According to a Union County report, at approximately 7:55 p.m. Wilson was a passenger of a vehicle driving near the intersection of Main Street and Minnesota Avenue. The driver of the vehicle stated Wilson kept opening the door to the vehicle. Wilson got out of the vehicle and leaned back in, punching the female driver with a closed fist on the right side of her face.

Deputies observed red marks and slight bruising on the victim’s right cheek.

Wilson was located and transported to the Union County Jail and held on $1,000 cash or surety bond.
