Nathan L. Novotny, 20, of Creston, was taken into custody 11:05 p.m. April 25, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on the charge of driving while suspended.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:03 p.m. Novotny was observed driving a 2021 Dodge Charger at Adams Street and Highway 25. Novotny has a suspended driver’s license.
Novotny was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $300 cash or surety bond.

Daniel D. Hoffman, 52, of Shannon City, was taken into custody 12:24 a.m. April 26, in the 200 block of East Montgomery Street on the charges of disorderly conduct – fighting/violent behavior and public intoxication, first offense.
According to a Creston Police report, Hoffman was involved in an incident in the Montgomery Street Pub, during which he punched an individual in the face. Hoffman was ordered to leave the establishment but attempted to re-enter the bar several times.
Hoffman was found to be intoxicated in the alley east of North Pine Street. Officers observed his eyes to be bloodshot and watery, his speech to be slurred, that he was unable to maintain his balance and he had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Hoffman was offered a PBT but he refused.
Hoffman was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from on his own recognizance on a promise to appear

Jonathan D. Williams, 21, of Creston, was taken into custody 5:30 p.m. April 26, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for the charge of OWI, first offense.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:55 a.m. March 23, a 2014 Chrysler 300 was stopped at Highway 25 for speeding. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Williams, and the odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.
Williams admitted to marijuana use earlier in the day. Williams was asked to step out of the vehicle and while doing so, officers observed a bulge in his sweatshirt pocket. When officers asked about it, Williams produced a glass jar containing resin. The substance later field tested positive for marijuana.
Williams was observed to have a lethargic demeanor and bloodshot eyes. He consented to field sobriety testing and showed clues of impairment. Williams also showed signs of impairment on ARIDE testing.
Williams consented to provide a urine specimen for chemical testing. The specimen was sent to the state lab. The toxicology report received from the lab showed a positive screen for marijuana metabolites.
Williams was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.
