Creston Police: A barred driver was taken into custody Thursday

Aristus Van Jung Sr., 54, of Des Moines, was taken into custody 1:10 a.m. April 17, in the 1100 block of North Cherry Street for the charge of driving while barred.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:52 a.m. a 1995 Kawasaki motorcycle was stopped for failing to display a rear license plate. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Van Jung Sr., who told officers he had just purchased the motorcycle.

Van Jung Sr. was unable to provide identification but did give officers his Social Security number. After running the number, it was discovered Van Jung Sr., had a barred license.

Van Jung Sr. was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.
