Mount Ayr teen charged in sexual assault case

A Mount Ayr teen was arrested on felony sexual assault charges Feb. 14 stemming from an assault in Mount Ayr.

The Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office charged Kameron J. Miller, 19, of second degree sexual assault, a Class B felony and third degree sexual assault, a Class C felony. Miller was subsequently taken into custody.

Charging documents show Miller admitted to deputies he had sexually assaulted a 16-year-old female while she slept in the early morning of Feb. 14. The victim confirmed to law enforcement Miller did not have her consent.

A no contact order was served to Miller to protect the victim. Miller posted $10,000 surety bond Feb. 17 and was released from custody. His preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 24 in Ringgold County District Court.
