Creston Police report - June 20, 2024

Blake A. McDole, 29, of Osceola, was taken into custody 1:18 p.m. June 19, at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for the charge of OWI, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 10:12 p.m. May 17, a 2006 Buick Lucerne was stopped on Elm Street. Contact was made with the driver, identified as McDole. McDole admitted to smoking marijuana while driving and had marijuana on his person and a marijuana pipe in the car.

McDole consented to field sobriety testing and showed validated clues of impairment. He was transported to the law enforcement center where he consented to provide a urine sample for chemical testing, which was sent to the DCI lab for toxicology testing. The toxicology results, received by the police department June 11, indicated a positive screen for marijuana metabolites with a threshold level of 63 ng/ml.

McDole was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Douglas D. Baker, 61, of Creston, was taken into custody 10:08 p.m. June 19 in the 800 block of North Division Street on the charge of public intoxication.

According to a Creston Police report, approximately 9:58 p.m. a male was reported to be stumbling in the middle of the road in the 600 block of North Oak Street. The male, later identified as Baker, was located in the alley between Oak and Division Street. The odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from his person and he admitted to drinking. Baker had trouble standing up and almost fell over several times while speaking with officers.

He consented to a PBT, which showed his BrAC at .118%. Witnesses said Baker almost fell over in the road and walked into a vehicle.

Baker was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $300 cash or surety bond.

Curtis L. LaMasters, 40, of Creston, was taken into custody 9:45 p.m. June 19, at his residence on four counts of contributing to deliquency of a minor - cause to act.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 8:30 p.m. officers responded to a residence in the 1200 block of North Walnut Street for a reported underage drinking party. When they arrived they spoke with the resident, identified as LaMasters, who was highly intoxicated. It was discovered seven juveniles were in the home, none of which resided there. Four of the juveniles produced a PBT result over .000%. Several of the juveniles stated LaMasters was who provided them with the alcohol.

LaMasters was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $1,200 cash or surety bond.
