Judy K. Gunter, 40, of Creston, was taken into custody 6:38 p.m. May 2, at Walmart on the charge of theft, fifth degree.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 6:05 p.m. Walmart employees reported they caught Gunter scanning items under the wrong tag. Gunter admitted to using a bar code for a $1 item to scan clothing items, causing the total Gunter paid to be $55.51. The actual total was $231.48.
Gunter was cited and released on a summons to appear.
