Creston Police report - April 11, 2024

Brady G. Richert, 45, of Creston, was taken into custody 6:33 p.m. April 9 at Pine and Lucas streets on the charge of public intoxication.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 4:19 p.m. Richert was observed at the intersection, in public and intoxicated. Richert showed significant signs of impairment including bloodshot, watery eyes, staggering while walking and had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person while speaking with officers.

Richert was transported to the Union County Law enforcement Center where he consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The result of the test indicated a BAC of .188%.

Richert was released from the Union County Jail on his own recognizance after seeing the magistrate.

Scott B. Spurrier, 58, of Creston, was taken into custody 6:14 p.m. April 10 at Cottonwood and Devoe streets on the charge of driving while suspended.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 3:46 p.m. Spurrier was observed driving a 2011 Dodge Charger and has a suspended driver’s license.

Spurrier was cited and released from the scene on a summons to appear.
