Creston Police report - Feb. 20, 2024

Molly N. Bagby, 20, of Corning was taken into custody 3:26 p.m. Feb 16 in the 600 block of Sheldon Street on the charge of theft, second degree.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were contacted by Hy-Vee Loss Prevention about an on-going theft case by an employee, identified as Bagby. Bagby admitted, while employed at the Hy-Vee Dollar Fresh, she took $4,234 in scratch tickets and other merchandise she did not pay for.

Bagby was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $5,000 cash or surety bond.

Cody R. Craig, 34, of Greenfield, was taken into custody 2:56 a.m. Feb. 17 at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on the charge of OWI, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 12:37 a.m. officers observed a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu westbound on Townline Street. While behind the Malibu, officers observed the car cross the centerline, weave within its lane and drive on the yellow line. The Malibu was paced at 62 mph in a 55 mph and was turning the headlights on and off.

A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver, identified as Craig. He said he thought the vehicle behind him was brighting him which was why he was turning the headlights on and off. Craig was lethargic and had bloodshot eyes. Craig told officers he had used his THC vape pen which he had a medical card for and was able to show documentation proof. Craig admitted he had taken one or two puffs from the pen about an hour prior to being stopped.

Craig consented to field sobriety testing and showed validated clues of impairment. He also consented to ARIDE testing, which he also numerous signs of impairment on. Testing by a certified DRE officer showed validated clues of impairment and clinical signs of impairment in those tests. Craig told officers the vape pen was a high dosage of THC at 81%.

Craig provided a urine sample for chemical testing after being transported to the Union County Jail.

He was released from the Union County Jail after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Yarioska Rondoncama, 39, of New York, was taken into custody 1:50 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for three counts of theft, fifth degree and was also charged with OWI, first offense and driving while revoked.

According to Creston Police reports, Rondoncama was observed in Walmart video footage scanning a few items and pretending to scan others then bagging the unscanned and unpaid for items. On Dec. 19 $39.20 in merchandise was taken; on Dec. 16, $23.36 of items were taken and on Dec. 28 $36.59 in items were taken.

Officers stopped a vehicle at Sumner and Russell streets in which Rondoncama was identified to be the driver Rondoncama consented to field sobriety testing and showed significant signs of impairment. He refused PBT. Rondoncama was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he consented to provide a breath sample for chemical testing. The result indicated a BAC of .122%/. Rondoncama had a revoked license due to a prior OWI test failure.

Rondoncama was transported to the Union County Jail where he was held on $2,900 cash or surety bond.

Jeffrey A. Arnold, 24, of Creston, was taken into custody 8:44 p.m. Feb. 19 at his residence on the charge of criminal mischief, second degree,

According to a Creston Police report, Arnold admitted at approximately 4:40 p.m. he went to a residence on the 700 block of East Summit Street and used a knife the stab the door eight times, a vehicle parked at the residence three times and cut the rear bumper of the car three times.

Arnold’s vehicle was shown leaving the residence on video footage provided by a neighbor. was arrested at his residence. Arnold told officers where to find the knife in a vehicle he had parked down the street from the residence.

Arnold was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $5,000 cash or surety bond.

Heather M. Madison, 27, of Creston, was taken into custody 12:05 a.m. Feb. 20 at the intersection of Adams and Division streets on the charge of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:22 p.m. Feb. 19, a 2003 Buick Lesabre was stopped for a traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Madison and the odor of marijuana was detected.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and a THC vape pen was located in Madison’s purse. Madison admitted she also had marijuana on her person hidden. Madison was transported to the law enforcement where she was searched by staff. A pipe containing marijuana was located on her person.

Madison was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.
