Creston Police report - Feb. 12, 2024

Keifird K. Griffith, 24, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, was taken into custody 5:37 a.m. Feb. 10 at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on the charges of OWI second offense and possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, second offense.

According to a Creston Police report, a 2020 Dodge Charger was stopped on Highway 25 for failure to obey a flashing red light. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Griffith, who gave officers consent to search the vehicle. During the search, two marijuana roaches, marijuana residue and a THC/marijuana beverage were located in the vehicle.

Griffith made statements about using marijuana earlier in the day and about consuming alcohol. There was an odor consistent with marijuana and an alcoholic beverage detected throughout the interaction with Griffith. He was observed to have lethargic movements. He consented to field sobriety testing which provided clues of impairment and consented to a PBT, the result of which indicated a BrAC of over .08%. Griffith consented to ARIDE tests which also showed clues of impairment.

Griffith was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The result of the test indicated a BAC of .084%. A DRE was present who observed Griffith’s signs of impairment.

Griffith was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $3,000 cash or surety bond.

Skyler L. McIntosh, 38, of Creston, was taken into custody 12:03 a.m. Feb. 12 at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on the charges of OWI, first offense and driving while barred.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:30 p.m. Feb. 11 officers stopped a 2001 BMW on Clark Street for having expired registration. Contact was made with the driver, identified as McIntosh, who told officers he had a barred license and was coming from the bar. When asked how much he had to drink, McIntosh said he would “blow over.”

McIntosh consented to field sobriety testing which provided clues of impairment. After being told he was being taken into custody, McIntosh refused PBT. McIntosh provided a breath specimen for chemical testing, which provided a BAC of .053%.

McIntosh was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $3,000 cash or surety bond.

At 1:54 p.m. Feb. 8, Mike Hudson reported someone broke into a garage at 502 North Walnut Street by prying open the door and took two chainsaws.

The estimated loss of property was $750.
