Keifird K. Griffith, 24, of Gardena, California, was taken into custody 3:33 a.m. Jan. 19, at Levy and Spruce streets on the charge of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:58 a.m. while patrolling, officers observed a 2020 Dodge Charger parked in the middle of Levy Street. When a patrol car got behind it, the Charger drove down the street and pulled in a driveway.
Officers approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Griffith. While speaking with him, a strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from inside the car. Griffith was asked to sit in a patrol unit while his information was checked. While inside the unit, officers were still able to smell the odor on his person.
