Noah A. Young, 24, of Creston, was taken into custody 7:10 a.m. Jan. 5 in the 500 block of North Maple Street on the charge of disorderly conduct - loud raucous noise.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 6:41 a.m. a neighbor reported yelling and doors slamming at an apartment in the 500 block of North Maple Street. When officers arrived, loud yelling and arguing was heard from inside the apartment. After several minutes of knocking, a male, identified as Young, answered the door and was taken into custody. Officers have been called to the apartment for noise complaints numerous times in the past several months.
Young was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released on his own recognizance after seeing the magistrate.

Angela D. Coke, 50, of Creston, was taken into custody 3:35 p.m., Jan. 5, at 806 Laurel Street on the charge of theft, fifth degree.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 9:30 a.m. Coke was observed at a self-checkout lane at Walmart holding two items together, scanning only one of the items and then placing both items in bags. Coke also left items in the bottom of her cart she did not scan and covered them with bags of merchandise. All activity was observed on camera.
Coke was cited and released at the scene on a summons to appear.

At 5:48 p.m. Jan. 6, Nicholas Foltz, of Mount Ayr, reported his Cub Cadet snow blower was taken from 301 W. Adams Street sometime after Dec. 26.
Estimated loss of property is $800.
