Joseph J. Blakely-Luddington, 28, no address given, was taken into custody 9:55 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on the charge of disorderly conduct - loud raucous noise.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 8:35 p.m. a resident in the 300 block of North Maple Street reported a male, later identified as Blakely-Luddington, outside yelling and disturbing the peace, which woke the residents up. Blakely-Luddington was located by officers in a nearby church parking lot.

Blakely-Luddington was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released on his own recognizance on a promise to appear.

Brandon H. Whitfield, 36, of Creston, was taken into custody Dec. 10 at his residence on five Union County warrants. Two warrants charge Whitfield with violation of probation, the third warrant charges him with failure to appear on the original charges of possession of controlled substance, second offense and possession of controlled substance - marijuana, second offense; a fourth warrant was issued for failure to appear on the original charge of violation of a no contact/protective order - contempt and the fifth warrant charges Whitfield with failure to appear on the original charges of interference with official acts and two counts of violation of a no contact/protective order - contempt. During the time of his arrest he was also charged with interference with official acts.

According to Union County District Court documents, Whitfield was to appear in court Nov. 3 and twice on Nov. 7 for pre-trial conferences on the original charges. Whitfield was not present either day.

According to Iowa Department of Correctional Services documents, on Dec. 2, 2022, Whitfield was convicted of eluding in Union County and was sentenced to 60 days in jail, suspended, with one year of probation. On the same date, in a separate Union County case, he was convicted of domestic abuse assault and was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended, with one year of probation.

Whitfield violated the terms of his probation in both cases Sept. 12 when he was charged in Union County with violation of a no contact/protective order.

Whitfield was transported to the Union County Jail and held without bond on warrants one and two; $2,000 cash only bond on the third warrant and $1,500 cash or surety bond for warrants four and five and the new charge.
