Creston Police report - Dec. 5, 2023

Wyatt D. Low, 27, of Stuart, was taken into custody 5:07 a.m. Dec. 4 in the 900 block of North Cherry Street on the charge of obstruction of emergency communications and domestic abuse assault - display or use weapon, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 4:28 a.m. officers responded to a domestic assault call in which the male, identified as Low, had a knife. When officers arrived Low and the female victim were separated. The victim told officers she and Low had a heated argument, during which, Low went into the kitchen and got a knife. He came into the living room toward the female, with the knife in hand, making her fear for her safety. Low then grabbed the victim’s hands and placed the knife in them before holding them to his throat and telling her to cut him. The victim was able to get away and called 911, a call which Low attempted to stop.

Low then went outside to leave but did not have keys. Low admitted grabbing the knife and holding it to his throat.

Low was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Lexie E. Wambold, 42, of Creston, was taken into custody 9:45 p.m. Dec. 4 in the 800 block of West Taylor Street on the charge of theft, fifth degree.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 3:39 p.m. Wambold was observed on Dollar General security footage and a self checkout register camera not scanning merchandise. Wambold had multiple items in her hand at once, scanned only one of the items and placed all of the items into the bag. Wambold paid for the items she scanned and left the store with both the paid and unpaid merchandise.

Employees of the store said this is not the first time Wambold has been caught doing this. The total merchandise taken from the store was $16.05.

Wambold was cited at the scene and released on a summons to appear.

Adrian I. Zendejas, 22, of Phoenix, Arizona, was taken into custody 12:22 a.m. Dec. 5 at Adams and Osage streets on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:50 p.m. Dec. 4, officers stopped a 2009 Honda Civic for speed and failure to stop at a stop sign. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Zendejas, and the odor of marijuana was detected coming from the car. Zendejas admitted to having a blunt in the car and gave officers a grape Swisher Sweet wrapper and said the blunt was inside of it.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted during which, two baggies with a total of nine gummies containing THC, two small buds of marijuana and empty THC packaging with markings were found in the vehicle. Zendejas also had a vape, he admitted contained THC, on his person.

Zendejas was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,300 cash or surety bond.
