Sean C. Stauffer, 37, of Creston, was taken into custody Nov. 30 on a Union County warrant for the charges of willful injury causing serious injury, domestic abuse assault - impeding air or blood flow causing injury and domestic abuse assault - injury or mental illness, first offense.
According to Union County reports, at approximately 8 p.m. Oct. 15, during an argument with a female victim, Stauffer intentionally slammed the victims hand in the door of a camper. The victim provided photos of her hand, showing injuries consistent with her statement.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., Nov. 12, an argument with the victim turned physical when Stauffer shoved the victim to the ground, head-butted her in the face, choked her to near unconsciousness and stomped her ribs. The assault caused a closed fracture to her nasal bone and a chest wall contusion.
Stauffer was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $10,000 cash or surety bond.
