Accident - Oct. 24, 2023

No injuries were reported Monday in a two-vehicle accident in Creston.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 3:27 p.m. a 2013 Ford Escape, driven by Hallie Orr, 19, of Creston, was northbound on Sumner Street when it struck a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Jarrett Luther, 16, of Creston, who was westbound on Prairie Street.

Witnesses stated Luther was attempting to cross Sumner Street and must not have seen the Escape. Orr attempted to swerve into the other northbound lane to avoid hitting the Impala but was unable to avoid the collision.

Damages to the Impala and the Escape were estimated at $3,000 each.
