Brady Richert, 44, of Creston, was taken into custody 4:50 p.m. on the 700 block of North Elm Street and charged with violation of a no contact/protective order.

According to a Creston Police report, officers responded to a call about a disorderly individual walking around the area. The male, later identified as Richert, was located at the intersection of Elm and Spencer streets.

While speaking with Richert, officers were notified Richert had just been knocking on the door of a residence on the 600 block of North Elm. The resident of the home has an active protective order against Richert. Richert admitted to officers he had been at the residence and had knocked on the door.

Richert was transported to the Union County Jail and held without bond until seen by the magistrate.
