Jennifer Ham, 38, of Lorimor, and Brady Richert, 44, of Creston were taken into custody 11:30 a.m. June 25, on the 300 block of South Walnut Street and charged with violation of a no contact/protective order.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11 a.m. officers were advised of a couple who were arguing outside of a residence in the 400 block of South Walnut Street. When officers arrived in the area, they located a male and female walking in the alley between Pine and Walnut streets, identified as Ham and Richert. A protective order originating in Union County between them was confirmed.
Ham and Richert were transported to the Union County Jail where Ham was released on her own recognizance after seeing the magistrate and Richert is being held without bond until initial appearance.

Julian Allison, 35, of Creston and Trevor Kinkade, 32, no address given, were taken into custody 3:11 p.m. June 25 at McKinley Park on the charge of public intoxication.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 2:49 p.m. officers were advised of a highly intoxicated male passed out at the public pool in McKinley Park. When they arrived they observed a male, later identified as Allison, passed out on the sidewalk in front of the pool entrance. Allison was unable to stand up straight and had slurred speech. He refused PBT testing. Pool employees said he had almost fallen over on several occasions. He told officers he had consumed seven beers at home and had taken medication.
Another male, identified as Kinkade, was located inside of the pool area passed out in a chair with what appeared to be alcoholic shooters in his pocket. Kinkade had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. He admitted to officers he had been drinking but refused PBT testing.
Kinkade and Allison were transported to the Union County Jail where they were released from after posting $300 cash or surety bond.

Jaden Loe, 21, of Lenox, was taken into custody 12:04 a.m. June 26 in the 100 block of East Taylor Street on the charges of OWI, first offense and carrying weapon while intoxicated. He was also cited for excessive acceleration.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:41 p.m. June 25, a 2012 Dodge Charger was observed by officers on Adams Street squealing it’s tires. The vehicle accelerated away from officers, who were unable to catch up to it. A Union County Deputy in the area observed the vehicle turn east onto Taylor Street from Elm Street in the wrong lane of traffic before turning into the Casey’s parking lot.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and a male, identified as Loe, exited the vehicle without being told to do so and began yelling at officers. While speaking with a passenger in the vehicle, officers observed the stock of a rifle between the passenger and the center console within Loe’s reach at the time of operation. The passenger was ordered out of the vehicle and the weapon was secured. A fully loaded drum magazine was also located behind the driver’s seat.
Loe was detained and placed in the back of a patrol unit. While speaking with officers Loe was observed him to have bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and an odor of alcohol coming from his breath. The passengers of the vehicle said they had all been drinking and a shooter of blackberry liqueur was found in the vehicle.
Loe consented to field sobriety testing and showed signs of impairment. A PBT test produced a result of over .08%. Loe consented to provide a breath sample for chemical testing which showed a result of .123% BAC.
Loe was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $2,000 cash or surety bond.

At 10:13 a.m. Janeen Frey, reported someone stole her John Deere lawn mower, model Z225, from her residence on the 500 block of North Stone Street.
Estimated loss of property was $2,675.
