Larkin E. Orsburn, 31, of Muenster, Texas, was taken into custody 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25 at the intersection of Lincoln Street and New York Avenue on the charges of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense and operating while under the influence, second offense.
According to a Creston Police Report, officers were notified of a reckless driver. Officers observed a 2020 white Nissan Ultima being driven erratically. During the traffic stop, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana and the driver, identified as Orsburn, showed significant signs of impairment including bloodshot, watery eyes.
Orsburn admitted to possessing an ounce of marijuana and to smoking marijuana. A bag containing a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana was discovered in the vehicle.
He consented to field sobriety testing in which officers detected signs of impairment. Orsburn refused preliminary breath testing and chemical testing.
Orsburn was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he is being held on a $3,000 cash or surety bond.
